CALC Launches September to December 2026 Training & Development Programme
The Cumbria Association of Local Councils (CALC) is pleased to announce that the September to December 2026 Training & Development Programme is now available, with bookings officially open.
Designed to support councillors, clerks, chairs and council staff at every stage of their local government journey, the programme offers a broad range of learning opportunities aimed at strengthening knowledge, building confidence and enhancing leadership skills.
Effective local councils depend on knowledgeable and well-equipped individuals. Whether you are newly elected, recently appointed, or an experienced council professional looking to update your skills, CALC’s training programme provides practical, relevant and engaging development opportunities.
The programme covers a variety of key topics, including:
- Governance and legal responsibilities
- Council finance and budgeting
- Community planning
- Digital engagement
- Leadership and management skills
- Good practice and compliance
All sessions are designed to provide participants with practical knowledge and tools that can be applied immediately within their councils and communities.
