Managing Assets & Governance training

Roger Taylor from Wellers Law Group will be delivering two upcoming training sessions specifically designed for town and parish councils.

The sessions will focus on key areas of responsibility and good practice, providing practical guidance, real-world examples, and the opportunity for discussion and questions.

Managing Assets – 25 February
This session will cover the effective management of council assets, including buildings, land, and community facilities. Topics will include asset responsibilities, maintenance planning, risk management, leases and agreements, and ensuring best value for the community. The session will be particularly useful for councils with existing assets or those considering taking on new ones.

Governance – 25 March
This session will focus on governance and compliance, helping councils ensure they are operating within the correct legal and procedural frameworks. Topics will include roles and responsibilities, decision-making, policies and procedures, transparency, and managing risk. It will be valuable for both new and experienced councillors and clerks.

Both sessions are suitable for councillors and clerks and aim to strengthen confidence, knowledge, and good governance across councils.
